Sing, Act, & Dance Weekly

Starting October 12th

Learn from industry professionals including actors from Broadway to London’s West End

Who: Ages 12-17
When: Saturdays from 11am – 1 pm
Where: New York’s prestigious Pearl Studios
Cost: $675 – 8 weeks

All participants will perform for family, friends and a panel of industry professionals.

A $50 deposit is required to register, full fees are due by October 4th, 2019. Deposits are non-refundable. If you decide to cancel you must do so on or before October 5th, after which time fees are non-refundable.

Once registered, you will receive an email with information regarding dancewear, what to bring to your child’s first day, as well as detailed directions.

Faculty 

Kenneth Avery-Clark, Principal & Co-Founder
Kenneth is an accomplished West End actor, writer, director, and producer and is a co-founder and the Principal of AMTA. He recently directed the Broadway Revival version of GODSPELL, which toured the UK. West End acting credits include THE PRODUCERS, RAGTIME, SWEET CHARITY, THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, and 125th STREET. He has shared the stage with Nathan Lane, Lee Evans, Liza Minnelli, Elton John, Olivia Newton-John, Elaine Paige and others. He has performed for British Royalty on two occasions and for the prestigious Chichester Festival in the critically acclaimed production of THE MUSIC MAN. In 2014, Kenneth performed in the musical he co-wrote, THE SINGING TEACHER, off the West End. He is dedicated to helping young performers reach their full potential and realize their dreams.

Christie Miller, Director & Co-Founder
Christie is a co-founder of AMTA. She is also an award-winning actress who has appeared in productions such as ANNIE, RUN FOR YOUR WIFE, NOISES OFF, SHIRLEY VALENTINE, EDUCATING RITA, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, PHILADELPHIA STORY, THE MOUSETRAP, and others. She has over thirty years of experience in performance and has produced and directed shows that have played and toured in both the UK and North America. She recently assistant directed the Broadway Revival version of GODSPELL, UK TOUR, and played the nurse in the European Premier of the new play TIME MANAGEMENT (Off West End). Christie is currently the Head of AMTA NYC.

Jeff Pew, Repertoire & Vocal Instructor
Jeff is currently appearing in FROZEN on Broadway as Swing and Assistant Dance Captain. Jeff Pew is a New York based actor originally from San Jose, CA. He most recently appeared in the RADIO CITY CHRISTMAS SPECTACULAR as the Wall Street Bull and is set to open a new Broadway musical entitled THE BANDSTAND in April 2017. He has also been in CINDERELLA on Broadway and the national tour of BILLY ELLIOT. As well as being a singer and actor Jeff is also an accomplished pianist and plays company class regularly for American Ballet Theatre and Mark Morris Dance Group.
Jeff is currently appearing in FROZEN on Broadway as Swing and Assistant Dance Captain.

Sarah Wingo, Dance Instructor

Sarah Wingo is a dancer, choreographer and dance educator based in Brooklyn, NY. After extensive ballet training under the tutelage of Karen Gibbons-Brown and Jeremy Blanton Sarah went on to pursue a BFA in Contemporary Ballet from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Sarah has toured nationally and internationally with Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Cats and for The Rolling Stones 50th Anniversary Tour. Commercially Sarah can be seen in adds for Kohl’s and Fila alongside celebrity trainer Shaun T, as well as Rockport Shoes, WeTV, and Cold EEZE. Sarah appeared in episodes of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel dancing for renowned choreographer Marguerite Derricks. Most recently Sarah’s voice can be heard in Pillsbury commercials (with a slight Southern accent). Sarah is a regular faculty member at Fort Wayne Ballet’s Summer Intensive.

Michael Rios, Dance Instructor
Born and raised in NYC, Michael is an actor, singer, dancer and instructor based in New York.
National Tours: Disney’s NEWSIES (1st national), Hello, Dolly! (50th anniversary starring Sally Struthers), The Wizard of Oz (Dance Captain), CATS (US, Canada, Venezuela, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama Tour).
Michael has danced for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines starring as Mr. Mistoffelees in CATS and as an aerialist in Come Fly With Me.
Regional theater productions include Peter Pan and Fiddler On the Roof. As an instructor, Michael has taught for Peridance Capezio NYC, Brooklyn Ballet, Icon Dance Complex, Pennsylvania School of Performing Arts, at various studios across the nation with Stage Door Connections and Broadway Connection, as an assistant at Broadway Dance Center and more!
Michael can be seen in the live film version of Disney’s NEWSIES (2017) with original Broadway cast members at the Hollywood Pantages Theater. Michael is a proud member of the Actor’s Equity Association.
