What previous experience do I need to be accepted at the Academy?2018-04-22T18:47:51+00:00

We have two programs that require different backgrounds:

Professional Development Program

This is an elite, exclusive program and we only will accept 40 people from across the country. We are looking for people who are extremely strong in at least two of three disciplines (acting, singing and dancing) and some of those accepted will be ‘triple threats’. It is important for us to have students go straight into the industry upon graduating.

Preparatory Program

This program is designed for those who might not be looking for a degree program. You might be on a gap year looking to hone your skills to leap into the industry. Or, you may be looking to do a degree program and want to be fully prepared to do the best audition possible for your university of choice. You are likely a high-school graduate.

Who will teach me at AMTA?2018-04-22T18:47:58+00:00

Broadway and West End directors, actors, choreographers, casting agents, and musical directors from BOTH New York AND London will be your mentors.  This is intensive training designed to not only to polish your skills but to introduce you personally to the industry.

Check out our FACULTY page for a full list of instructors.
