Our fantastic Foundation Course Leader, Graham Newell, took part in running the 2019 Brighton Marathon, in aid of ‘Mind’.

Emily Cox and Whitney Wornall, students of AMTA London, both assisted in organising a bring and buy sale, where all students from the academy brought in items to then auction off. All proceeds were then donated to Graham to attain his goal of £500.

Not only was Graham able to reach his £500 goal, but he surpassed it, raising a total of £800 for Mind. This charity provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing mental health problems and strives to continue their work until everyone experiencing mental health problems get the support the require and respect they deserve.

Graham explained, “I’m running for Mind because I truly believe in the importance of not suffering fear and self-doubt alone. When life gets a little overwhelming, nothing can save us more than being acknowledged, heard and supported”.

We would like to acknowledge Mental Health Awareness Week and take this opportunity to congratulate Graham for his hard work and inspiring efforts to raise awareness and help break the stigma. Also, thank you to the students of AMTA London for supporting Graham with the wonderful fundraiser, whilst also being extremely busy with lessons.
