Stageworks Productions Ltd. which is owned by Kenneth Avery-Clark and Christie Miller (also co-founders of AMTA London, New York, Belfast and Rome) will co-produce Meredith Willson’s THE MUSIC MAN where it will tour 8 major cities in China next summer. The cast and creative team will be from the UK mainly. Some specific casting will be done in China.
This is the first joint venture between Stageworks Productions and Chinese Producers Fresh Vogur, who were responsible for bringing the musicals GHOST and THE BODYGUARD to CHINA. The children’s parts will all be cast in China with initial casting starting in November. Casting in the UK will take place in January.
“This is very exciting news for us. At AMTA we train people for the industry, so creating jobs in the industry definitely fits well with our ethos”, says Kenneth Avery-Clark who will oversee the production. He was in the critically acclaimed production of THE MUSIC MAN at Chichester Festival so knows how much joy this show can bring. “The production will be in English but the relatively simple plot and catchy tunes should be easy for anyone to enjoy”, says Avery-Clark.
Suggestions and applications for the creative team are now being taken. All interested parties can send CVs to email@example.com
