5 Musicals We’re Excited For In 2019!

WAITRESS

The Sara Bareillis musical is set to land at the Adelphi Theatre next year. It’s one of the most eagerly anticipated Broadway transfers and is a huge fan favourite! Broadway star Katherine McPhee will be joining the West End cast too! Brought to life by a ground breaking all-female creative team, this irresistible new hit is sure to see it’s tickets sell like hot cakes!

DEAR EVEN HANSEN

Pasek and Paul’s 6-time Tony winning musical finally lands at the Noel Coward next November.  I know what you’re thinking- it’s a whole year away?! Yes, but we honestly can’t wait to hear ‘Waving Through a Window’ live! And with the news Jill Green will be casting a British cast for the transfer, we’re even more excited!

SIX

Okay, so this may have been around in 2018, but for those of you who didn’t get to see the untold story of Henry VIII’s six wives, you’ll get another chance in the new year. Written by British duo Marlow and Moss, these feisty ladies will be dishing out some alternative history at the Arts Theatre. Our lovely Music Theory teacher and accompanist Katy Richardson served as MD last time around in the West End too!

COME FROM AWAY

Telling the story of planes diverted to Gander, Canada immediately following the events of 9/11, this remarkable true story is landing in early 2019 after a preview in Dublin. Starring Rachel Tucker, the show features casting by Pippa Ailion Casting, with Katherine Skene (AMTA Grad 2016) serving as the Casting Assistant!

VIOLET

Jeanine Tesori (Fun Home, Shrek) and Brian Cawley (The Little Princess) finally bring their award-winning tale of the facially disfigured Violet to the Charing Cross Theatre this month. We are so delighted that our Principal, Kenneth Avery-Clark, will be playing the Preacher in this brand new production! We can’t wait to see him in action, tickets are on sale now so don’t miss out!
