TWO-YEAR MUSICAL THEATRE COURSE

ONE-YEAR MUSICAL THEATRE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COURSE

This is an intensive course in a conservatory setting designed for college graduates or individuals with previous training or performing experience. This course is ideal for those who intend to enter the profession upon completion.

We have a simple goal: to prepare you to enter the industry as a working performer at the end of your year. We will push you to the appropriate level and then introduce you to the people who could change your life. Learn daily from Broadway professionals at our New York Theatre College. Showcase your talent to agents, casting agents, and directors and perform in full-scale productions.

Partway through your training you will go to London where you will be immersed in British culture and exposed to incredible mentors who are all working in the industry. Toward the end of your London visit you will rehearse with AMTA’s London students and perform a show on a London stage. Once you have graduated, you will have both New York and London performance credits having provided you with ample time to showcase your talent to industry professionals.

While we are auditioning all across America, and we are looking for the most talented, most disciplined, and most ambitious students we can find.

Course Highlights

  • Learn the Business:  Show-business can be a very daunting industry. We will teach you the business and coping skills you will need to be self-employed in this industry and then be there to advise you throughout your career.
  • Showcasing and Networking Opportunities: Our Professional Panel at the end of the year is an opportunity of a lifetime. Just you, just them (agents, casting agents, choreographers and directors). Each student gets his or her own time to shine in front of the panel of professionals from the industry. Many of our students receive representation (agents) this way.
  • Act, Sing, Dance Daily: We focus on ALL of the disciplines of Musical Theatre, not just some of them! Weekly, private voice lessons are also included in the program.
  • Study in New York: You will perform for Broadway directors, choreographers and other industry names, who will assess your talent. By the end of the year, you will really understand how creative minds work on both sides of the Atlantic thanks to our musical theatre courses.
  • Perform in London: During your time in the UK you will do a public performance on a London stage working with your fellow AMTA classmates from our London school.
